Ntemwa-Busanga Camp
Simple thatched bush camp · Southern tip of the Busanga Plains · Classic Zambia Safaris
The affordable way onto the Busanga Plains: bucket showers, lamplight and five rebuilt chalets at the southern edge of the grassland. The cheetah record speaks for itself, and this corner of the plains is the best place in Zambia to look for them.

What the park charges on top
The rate above buys you a bed. Kafue National Park charges its own entry fee for every day you are inside. Here is what that adds up to.
- Park entryThere is no self-drive surcharge here.
- $20per person, per day
- VehicleForeign-registered vehicle under 3 tonnes.
- $15per vehicle, per day
Three nights means three days inside, so two adults sharing one vehicle pay $165 in park fees before anyone pays for a bed.
The full fee schedule for Kafue National ParkRates at Ntemwa-Busanga Camp
Rates on request. No published rate card. No electric lights and no pool, deliberately.
What the rate covers is not confirmed. We do not know yet whether meals, drinks and activities are included, so read this as the bed only.
Every figure on this page is in US dollars.
Indicative 2026 rates from operators' own rate cards and published tariffs, gathered July 2026. Many Kafue camps quote on enquiry only. Watch two things when comparing: whether park fees are included (Mayukuyuku and Konkamoya include them, most others do not), and conservation levies of $30 to $40 a night at some camps. A caution on older guides: Lufupa River Camp, Lufupa Tented Camp, Leopard Lodge and Puku Pan all appear closed or dormant, Mukambi Plains Camp is simply the old name of Busanga Plains Camp, and the Jeffery & McKeith brand merged into Classic Zambia Safaris. We list none of them as live options.
Questions about Ntemwa-Busanga Camp
Is Ntemwa-Busanga Camp good for families?
We found no published minimum age for children or family chalet description for Ntemwa-Busanga, so ask what age the camp accepts when you enquire. With bucket showers, lamplight and no electric fence, it suits older children on a walking or vehicle safari better than very young ones.
Can you self-drive to Ntemwa-Busanga Camp?
Classic Zambia's own page does not describe a self-drive route for Ntemwa-Busanga, only a seasonal airstrip at Busanga in our record. Given the camp sits deep on the plains and runs only 1 June to 15 November, confirm current access with Classic Zambia Safaris at info@classiczambiasafaris.com before planning to drive in.
Does Ntemwa-Busanga Camp have Wi-Fi?
Yes, but only in one spot. The camp's own page describes a shaded bird hide and sitting area that doubles as a small Wi-Fi room, rather than connectivity throughout camp. Everywhere else stays off-grid, with no electric lights, in keeping with the deliberately rustic, lamplit feel of the camp.
When is Ntemwa-Busanga Camp open?
Ntemwa-Busanga runs from 1 June to 15 November each year, according to our record. That is a longer window than most Busanga camps, which typically close by the end of October, though conditions on the plains still govern how early or late the camp can safely operate.
Can you walk or boat at Ntemwa-Busanga Camp?
Mostly not from this camp alone. Classic Zambia's own page describes activities here as predominantly vehicle-based, with walking and boating only available when a stay is combined with its sister property, Musekese Camp. Book the two together if walking safaris or river time matter to your trip.
